Copy of a notice 'Saltaire: The Evening Schools are now Open' (1867). The classes were held in the Dining Hall building of Salts Mill as no school buildings had yet been built in Saltaire. The poster advertises classes in reading, writing and arithmetic at a charge of 1 pence per class. The classes were to be given by Miss Wade and George Morrell (who had a 45 year career as a teacher in Saltaire).
